Photocourse 2 - The Photographic Series
Introduction to Photocourse 2
It's often said that every picture tells a story, and there's the idea that a single photograph - if it's good enough - can tell the full story. Well, that's as may-be; but a series of photographs can always tell a fuller story than a single photo, even if just supplying context for the hero shot.
This course is about learning to make a series of photographs that explore and talk about a subject in some depth, and it requires a different way of thinking to the goal of producing a single image.
This part-time course, run from our studios in Courtenay Place, is designed to take up where PC1 leaves off. It is suitable for beginning to intermediate level photographers. This course is focused on learning how to conceive, photograph, edit, and print a series of photographs.
There are two assignments to work on - Sense of Place and The Photo Documentary. Learn to think and see photographically and develop and print edited series of your work to produce a small portfolio selection of finished prints by the end of this six-week course.
Photocourse 2 addresses creative and practical techniques that will give your photography an all-over boost. You will learn to feel more confident and be more purposeful when photographing in any environment or situation.
With a small class (limit of 8) and experienced tutors, we can offer you plenty of individual attention, as well as the benefits of meeting and working with a like-minded group of photographers.
Tutors: James Gilberd & John Williams - see tutor page
