Introduction
This part-time course, run from our studios in central Wellington, continues from Photocourse 1 & 2 and provides largely self-directed assignments and more technically challenging workshops. We will look further into the major themes of photography and help you to build on your photographic vision and enhance your creative use of camera and lighting techniques. The aim of the course is for you to build a set of images suitable for a professional or artistic portfolio, and for a group exhibition at Photospace Gallery. Note: acceptance of work for the group exhibition is at the discretion of Photospace Gallery and subject to its conditions. You will need your own digital SLR camera or mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera. Alternatively, you could do all or part of the course work on film if you wish. There is a darkroom available at a preferential hire rate if you want it. |
Theme
This time, the theme of the Photocourse 3 will be your own local community - your neighbourhood, suburb, home town, virtual community, or how you wish to define it. This will help unify the approach and provide a theme for the 2022 group exhibition. Your theme should allow for portrait, (urban) landscape and documentary photographic explorations. Course structure
Within Photocourse 3 there are three creative areas:
Since you will be developing your own personally-directed projects, you are invited to interpret the technical & aesthetic guidelines fairly individually. Course fee and costs
