Photocourse 4 is already running in 2024 and will be run again in 2026. Expressions of interest are welcome now.
Tutors: James Gilberd, John Williams. Have you done photography courses and are left wondering 'what now?' Had a an idea for a photographic project on the back-burner for a while but not quite sure what to do with it? Or do you have a totally new idea for a photography project and need some guidance and motivation to get it to happen? Photocourse 4 could be the answer.
We are offering the opportunity for intermediate to advanced photographers to work on development of self-directed projects within a small group framework, and with advice and mentoring from James Gilberd and John Williams at Photospace, 37 Courtenay Place, Wellington. We have run several successful group exhibitions, as well as various solo exhibitions of work produced for Photocourse 4. Your own project/s may be part of a group exhibition and/or a solo exhibition at Photospace Gallery, or another venue, and/or a photographic book, website, public art installation or other art-based project. They may be a documentary-type photography project/s, (John's field) or be geared towards development in some aspect of professional photography. We would like you to work on two projects during the PC4 programme:
The format for PC4 is monthly group meetings to present work in progress and receive constructive feedback from the tutors and the other class members. Between those meetings will be 1:1 or small group sessions with one or two tutors. NB. Material and exhibition costs will be extra and the responsibility of the student. (Photospace Gallery does not charge a hire-fee.) Course fee covers tuition only. Course numbers: limited to 6 students. Please contact James Gilberd to discuss. Email: [email protected] Phone: 04 382 9502 (after 10am) at Photospace. |
