'The Fine Print' - Black & White Darkroom Course

The course will cover:
  • Evaluating negatives, Zone System overview
  • Tonal and contrast control, burning and dodging the print
  • Printing on fibre-based silver-gelatin paper
  • Spotting, mounting - finishing the print
  • Archival processing considerations
  • Basics of toning prints.
If you have done our Black & White Darkroom, Film & Camera evening course or weekend workshop, you will find this an ideal next step in learning how to work in the photographic darkroom. Otherwise, you will need to have a basic knowledge of black & white film developing and  proofsheet-printing to get the most from this course. We won't be covering the basics of darkroom work, as we'll be concentrating on making high quality prints from developed negatives you bring along.
